What Is Distributism?
The Core Philosophy
Distributism is an economic philosophy that advocates for a wide, equitable distribution of private property ownership rather than its concentration in the hands of a few (capitalism) or the state (socialism). It promotes small businesses, co-operatives, and family-owned enterprises to foster economic independence and social justice.
Political ideologies are rarely static. They exist on a spectrum of economic freedom and social liberty. Understanding where Distributism falls on this spectrum is critical to analysing modern geopolitical shifts and understanding systemic structures.
