What Is Georgism?
The Core Philosophy
Georgism is an economic philosophy that proposes that individuals should own the value they create, but the economic rent from land and natural resources should belong equally to all members of society. It advocates for a single tax on the unimproved value of land (land value tax) to fund public services.
Political ideologies are rarely static. They exist on a spectrum of economic freedom and social liberty. Understanding where Georgism falls on this spectrum is critical to analysing modern geopolitical shifts and understanding systemic structures.
