What Is Situationism?
The Core Philosophy
Situationism refers to the theory and practice of the Situationist International, an avant-garde movement that critiqued consumer society, capitalism, and state control. It advocated for the creation of 'situations' or transient, experimental experiences to challenge alienation and foster revolutionary social change.
Political ideologies are rarely static. They exist on a spectrum of economic freedom and social liberty. Understanding where Situationism falls on this spectrum is critical to analysing modern geopolitical shifts and understanding systemic structures.
